Currently back in Manchester now, I was unable to sustain living in a new city after being made redundant from the job I left Manchester for. I was the lead designer for a publishing house with their free Regional Lifestyle magazine. It was a shame it had to come to an end, but with the economic hound-dogs growling at the door, there was now way of stopping it.
I initially left Manchester to get my foot on the ladder of design, in doing so I was able to make good friends and acquaintances, one of which has given me a lease of life. Being offered a role as a Junior Designer within an In-House studio in Birkenhead where I'm involved in creating corporate literature, signage and some DM work. The only downfall is that I have to now commute from Manchester to Birkenhead - but I'm a firm believer of putting the hard work in to reap the benefits.
On another note, I've had one of my illustrations selected to be included in the OFFF 2009 Art Catalogue. OFFF is a three-day festival which showcases top digital artists, web, print and interactive designers, motion graphics studios, and new music adventurous. I was amazed to be selected and hugely appeciative to the guys at OFFF!
Things are also progressing with the magazine I'm formulating, currently about to get some submission forms together and then going to put together some data lists to send the out to. I've threw together a quick site at ANONYMOUS where people can get some idea of the ethos behind what we're trying to do.
I was also very lucky to be in Leeds the other night to see a band that's going to be huge: Emarosa. Cheers DAVE B for chucking me the heads up on SPOTIFY!
Hold tight as I'm still updating my site and will have some more work up soon.
P.S. I'm currently looking for collabs in and around MANC, so if your a creative and have an idea, thow it my way!
